Sunny Man Chu Lau
Sunny Man Chu Lau, Full Professor in the School of Education at Bishop’s University, Québec, is Canada Research Chair (Tier 2) in Integrated Plurilingual Teaching and Learning. She specializes in critical literacies, second language and plurilingual education, teaching English as a second language, participative-based research methodologies, and related teacher education.
Geneviève Brisson
Geneviève Brisson is an assistant professor in the Faculty of Education at the Université de Sherbrooke, and director of the ESL teacher education program (2021-2023). Her scholarship explores plurilingualism in relation to literacies and identities, and she is interested in documenting the literacy practices of plurilingual children and youth. Her recent research works with a range of concepts from New Materialism, and postqualitative research approaches.
Philippa Parks
Philippa Parks is an assistant professor in the Faculty of Education at the Université de Sherbrooke. Her research looks at how language teachers form their professional identity during teacher education, particularly how they build self-efficacy and resilience.

Monica Waterhouse
Monica Waterhouse is an Associate Professor/Professeure agrégée in the Département de Langues, linguistiques et traduction at Université Laval and Director of the ESL teacher education program (2020-2024 mandate). She teaches in the area of language pedagogies and supervises field practicums. Her recent research works with the Deleuzian concept of affect to study the potential of arts-based approaches in language education
Trevor Gulliver
Dr. Gulliver is a Professor in the School of Education at Bishop’s University in Sherbrooke, Quebec. He has taught English as a Second Language in South Korea and Canada and worked on language teacher professional development projects with teachers from around the world. His research explores issues of power and identity in language learning and teaching and constructions of national identity in ESL textbooks used in Canada.
Coralie Daoust
Coralie Daoust has been a Research Assistant for Dr. Sunny Lau since 2021. She is currently finishing her BA in Modern languages (Spanish and Japanese) with a minor in TESL. She has always been fascinated by languages and cultures in the world since she speaks French, English and is learning Spanish and Japanese.
Emilie Francoeur
Emilie Francoeur is a student at Bishop’s University in Sherbrooke, Quebec. They are currently studying for a Bachelor of Education in Teaching English as a Second Language. They are also a research-assistant for Dr. Sunny Lau.
Bianca Emmell-Tierney
Bianca Emmell-Tierney is a student at Bishop’s University in Sherbrooke, Quebec. She is currently completing her Bachelor of Education in Teaching English as a Second Language. She is also one of Dr. Sunny Lau’s research assistants.
Stéphanie Mallick–Pilon
Stéphanie Mallick–Pilon is a student at Bishop’s University in Sherbrooke, Quebec. She is in the process of completing her Bachelor of Education in Teaching and Learning English at the Secondary Level with a minor in Teaching English as a Second Language. She is a research assistant for Dr. Sunny Lau.
